Privacy Policy

Last updated June 2026

We collect the minimum information needed to connect customers with local vendors. This page explains what, why, and how your data is shared.

1. Who we are

Request A Whippy is the data controller for the personal data described below. Contact us at hello@requestawhippy.online for any privacy question.

2. Customer data we collect

  • Name and email
  • Phone number (if you provide one)
  • Postcode and address used for a request
  • Live location when you use "use my location"
  • Request details (items, notes, time)

3. Vendor data we collect

  • Business name, owner name, phone, email
  • Business address and operating areas
  • Vehicle registration and van photo
  • Uploaded licence, insurance, food hygiene and registration documents
  • Live van location while you are on duty

4. Location data

We use customer location to find nearby vendors and we use vendor location to dispatch and track live requests. Location data is only used inside the platform.

5. When your full address is shared

Before a vendor accepts your request they only see a rough area or distance band — not your full address. Your full street, postcode and pin location are only shared with the vendor after they accept.

6. Storage and security

Data is stored on managed UK/EU cloud infrastructure. Access is restricted by role-based security rules. Vendor documents are stored privately and are only visible to that vendor and to our admin team.

7. Data access and deletion

You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account by emailing hello@requestawhippy.online.

8. Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and may use lightweight analytics to understand how the platform is used. We do not sell personal data.

9. Children

Request A Whippy is for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Request A Whippy is a marketplace platform that connects customers with independent ice cream vendors. Vendors are independent businesses and are responsible for their own licences, food hygiene, insurance, pricing, attendance, and legal compliance.
